Shortlist: Mental Health Tips, Resources, Reminders, and Encouragement
It was only seven years ago when I publicly shared my mental health journey for the very first time. It can still be daunting, not knowing how others will respond. But one very important lesson I've learned is that it’s not about me.
Sharing my story and embracing candid vulnerability is about all of you... all of us, together.
So, in honor of us, I’ve put together a short but hopefully useful list of #mentalhealth tips, resources, reminders, and encouragement.

🧠 Things You Can Do:
Educate Yourself: Understanding mental health conditions helps break down stigmas.
Research Available Resources: Explore therapy options, support groups, hotlines, insurance coverage, and mental health organizations.
Learn to Support Yourself & Others: Use destigmatizing language, practice empathic listening, and connect to helpful resources.
Check In with Loved Ones: A quick text or call can brighten someone’s day and remind them they’re not alone.
Practice Self-Care: Make time for activities that restore and rejuvenate you.
Encourage Honest Conversations: Open discussions about mental health can reduce stigma and promote help-seeking behavior.
Advocate for Change: Contact local, state, and federal legislators to support mental health policies.
Share Your Story: Opening up about your journey can empower you and encourage others to share, fostering resilience and community.
Support Mental Health Organizations: Volunteer, donate, or fundraise to help sustain these vital communities.
🧠 And Remember…
Your mental health is just as important as any other aspect of your well-being; it deserves the same time, energy, and attention.
Feelings and emotions are temporary. If you’re struggling, know that it won’t last forever.
Asking for help doesn’t signify weakness; it shows strength and courage.
There is always hope, help, and resources available.
You are not alone 💚.
Let’s continue to support each other and prioritize mental health today and every day!
Please share this with someone you think could benefit from a little encouragement or to let them know you're thinking about them.
